Step 2: Post the Procedure...
The information about today’s procedure is posted in the Charge Entry screen.
- There is ample room for the modifiers required by Medicare.
- The basic procedure
has been keyed, and the base units have been automatically entered into
the units column.
By creating a single account for the patient and posting all of that patient’s procedures to the account; it is easier to post new procedures, track payments, and correct insurance information when it needs to be updated.
In the following example, we have entered the ASA code. We could have also chosen to enter the CPT code and the system would automatically perform the cross walk to the ASA code when the claims are generated:
